How much to buy

A month of iftars, worked out

A pitted Medjool date weighs about 24 g, so a kilogram holds roughly 40 dates. A household of four eating three dates each at iftar needs about 360 dates over 30 days, which is roughly 8 to 9 kg. That works out to one 5 kg box plus two 2 kg boxes.
